James Chillman - Chair of Governors
Hello! I’ve lived in Altrincham for the past three years and have two children currently attending Altrincham CE Primary School. I first joined the Governing Board in 2023 as Chair of the Finance and Resources Committee before taking on the role of Chair of Governors.
My professional background is in business leadership and consultancy, and I’m passionate about using those skills to support the strategic direction and continued success of our school. I was drawn to becoming a governor through a desire to give back to the community and to the school that was so welcoming to our family when we first moved to the area.
Outside of school life, I’m happiest outdoors , hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing or skiing whenever the opportunity allows.
I feel very proud to work alongside a talented leadership team and a dedicated group of governors who share a common goal: ensuring that every child at Altrincham CE Primary has the best possible start to their education.
Liv Tattum - DBE Governor
Hi everyone, I’m Liv. Not only am I parent of a past pupil, but I am also an active member of St George’s and have been a teacher since 1997. I have joined the governors as a foundation governor and I believe very strongly in helping the school to be the best it possibly can be.
I currently work at Trinity C of E High School in Manchester as Assistant Headteacher. I bring with me to Altrincham C of E experience of working in an outstanding church school and many more years of education experience. I have taught in a variety of schools over my career and each experience has brought me valuable knowledge that I am sure I can use to benefit ACE.
I enjoy theatre, film and music and am an avid reader. As a family we love to travel and enjoy walking, regularly at Dunham Massey and we are regular visitors and big fans of The Lake District.
My daughter is extremely happy at school; confident and always smiling. I know that this is my opportunity to give something back to the school that has done so much for our family. I am excited to work with such a committed team at ACE.

Faranak Moscrop – Co-Opted Governor
I was appointed as a Co-opted Governor of Altrincham C of E School in September 2024.
I have lived in Altrincham for more than thirty years. My child attended Altrincham C of E Primary School with many fond memories and ever since then my family has felt part of a virtual school alumni community. My role gives me the opportunity to help our local school achieve the best standards of education for its children in a nurturing, safe and loving environment based on a good moral foundation. I am retired but I have many years of work experience initially as a physicist in academia and later working for 26 years in an engineering consultancy company. I have worked or lived in four countries and have friends and relatives around the world with whom I regularly keep in touch. I am a strong believer in contributing and strengthening our local communities. My hobbies include walking, reading, travelling, TaiChi and most recently watercolour painting.
Gareth Bowes – Parent Governor
Hi, I’m Gareth one of the parent governors and father to James (Woodpeckers) & Jessica (Fledglings).
Since they joined ACE I’ve been particularly impressed with the sense of community spirit, security and happiness shown by the school staff and their fellow pupils. This helped James & Jessica to settle in so well and as a result I’m hoping to give something back to the school via the parent governor role.
I’m looking forward to help shape the school’s direction and enhance the learning experience for all pupils for many years to come.
Rev. Claire Corley – Foundation Governor
After many wonderful years as a history secondary teacher, I was ordained in 2017 in the Diocese of Leeds. I have just moved to Altrincham and became the Vicar of St George's in September 2022 and can't wait to get to know everyone! My husband and I have three children, more pets than we can count, and I loves walking, nature and curling up with a good book.
Catherine Macneil - Foundation Governor
Hello, I’m Catherine. I’m one of the foundation governors at ACE, mum to Jasper, and a member of St George’s.
I’m currently working as an independent legal consultant, with over 12 years of experience in legal services, including previous roles as a trade marks attorney and lawyer in private practice firms as well as in-house.
Since our family arrived in the UK in 2023, we have been touched by the kindness and support we have received from school staff, fellow parents, and everyone at St Georges. So, I’m very grateful to be able to give back by making a meaningful contribution as a governor.
I’m dedicated to working with the team to shape ACE’s vision over the coming years, oversee the school’s budget, and ensure the school encourages all pupils’ spiritual, moral, and cultural development and supports those with special needs.
Colette Coverley – Foundation Governor
Hi, I’m Colette and I am one of the parent governors. I am mum to Amelia in Year 2 and Gregory in Reception. As well as being a mum I work as a Design Technology Teacher, specialising in Food and Nutrition since 2004. I have been working at Sale Grammar School since 2018 and prior to that I spent 14 years at a school in Cheetham Hill. I am passionate about helping to improve the school to ensure that our children are benefitting from a high quality education whilst learning about being part of a community. I am also actively involved in the PTA.
